Scarlet Consulting Club

The Scarlet Consulting Club, previously known as the consulting team of IISE, provides students hands-on, real world project experiences with 35+ successful projects. Project sponsors range from local nonprofits to global Fortune 500 companies. SCC offers students a unique opportunity to sharpen their problem-solving skills, cultivate professional networks, and make meaningful contributions. It is made up of about 30 Industrial and Systems Engineering students of various academic years, work experiences, and curriculum tracks. Students are split into small groups and paired with a company sponsor to work through a semester long project. These engagements include direct communication with company employees, site visits, presentations, and final handover of recommendations and deliverables.

Why should you join?

Whether you are looking to get your foot in the door, or build upon past work experience, the IISE Consulting Team is a great program to develop your professional skills. As a student you will have the opportunity to engage as a consultant working for a company with real issues. Our projects grant access to a wide range of industries and build upon communication and collaborative skills necessary to succeed in the professional world.

The program offers a supportive community with various students you may have not met before, providing an opportunity to seek guidance from and build connections with individuals who have similar interests and aspirations.

Applications open towards the end of a semester for participation in the following semester. If you are interested in joining or have any questions, please reach out to Sejal Jindal (jindal.74@osu.edu).

Why should my company sponsor a project?

The IISE Consulting Team provides project work and students offer a unique and fresh perspective to your company’s obstacles and opportunities. With curriculum built around process improvement and optimization, the Industrial and Systems Engineering Students can provide recommendations to solve improvement opportunities in a wide range of applications. Past projects have allowed students to pull from knowledge relating to but not limited to Facility Design and Layout, Logistics, Scheduling, Ergonomics, and Operations.

In addition to receiving project deliverables, your company can connect with high achieving and passionate students. This opens the door to future recruitment opportunities as well as marketing your company to the greater Ohio State Community. If your company is interested in sponsoring a project or learning about additional ways to get involved with the team, please contact Kali Bell (bell.1748@osu.edu).
